I am a passionate Connector with years of experience in the public and private sector. I love to support people’s ideas, help them grow personally and overcome challenges. I have a burning desire to support community development and disrupt traditional business practices. My ultimate goal is to bring value to anything and everything I do in both the public and private sector. I love working on massive problems that are challenging and seem impossible. I am a dreamer, doer and motivator and who is always looking to work with new people.



Capacity Building Specialist (Youth Opportunities Fund)

Ontario Trillium Foundation ( 2016 – Present/May2017)

The role is focused on supporting the design and delivery of YOF capacity building program across Ontario.

– Develop program documents, tools and resources
– Design curriculum and learning resources
– Facilitate training and design workshops
– Work collaboratively with community stakeholders.
– Synthesize and share their knowledge about YOF


Youth Justice Worker

African Canadian Legal Clinic (2012-2014)

The African Canadian Legal Clinic (ACLC) is a not-for-profit organization that is funded by Legal Aid Ontario and part of the family of Ontario’s various legal clinics. The ACLC has a national membership of individuals who are committed to working towards racial equality and who have experience and expertise in this area.

The ACLC’s Mandate is to:

a) Address Anti-Black systemic racism and racial discrimination through test-case litigation and intervention;

b) Monitor significant legislative, regulatory, administrative and judicial developments affecting the African Canadian community;

c) Engage in advocacy, law reform and legal education aimed at eliminating Anti-Black racism.

My role included:

– Supporting youth to navigate the court system
– Developed court mandated diversion programs for young offenders
– Team lead in developing “Cultural Competency Program funded by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services. The program has since gone on to train social service agencies and youth workers in how to better work with African youth.

Additional Roles:
– Fundraising and Event planning that led me to raise over $35,000

Executive Director

Bright Future Alliance (2009-2012)

Segun founded Bright Future Alliance, a non-profit that fosters environments where young leaders can reach their potential. He had the pleasure to work with government, charities, educational institutions and many more organizations.

Projects include:

Cooking 4 Change a young men’s cooking program that eventually became a City of Toronto mandated program in the O’Connor Community.

Created ” A Moment with Stars” that hosted such celebrities:

– Tyrone T-Rex Much Music Tv Host
– Belly Roc Nation Artist
– Charlie Brown – Globally known DJ
– Famous – Global artist
– Jordan Francis – Camp Rock
– and many more.

Developed Diamonds N the Dirt curriculum (SAFE SCHOOLS (APPLE) – Rory McGuckin) TDCSB. The program was consider as part of official course material .

– Expanded it to Credit Recovery Monsignor John Pereyma Catholic Secondary School DCDSB
– Developed martial art’s and media programs for 360 Kid’s

Hosted 2 day event at Maple Leaf Gardens that raised over $30,000

BFA was funded by:

In 2 short years I was able to raise over 200k with the help of: Telus, Laidlaw Foundation, City of Toronto, TD Bank, Private Donations.
